Harmony of a Living Body
A human expresses feeling through impulse and reaction.
A body ceaselessly functions in response to the five senses as they control our muscles’ movements and convulsions. The movement of a hand can show desire as the step of the foot depicts force and will. A human being resembles nature as their living body responds to the stimuli of the world around them.
In my works, trees dance in groups portraying a dynamic performance made up of three acts and two scenes. These intangible patterns illustrate my inherent sensibility and inner connection with nature.
My art creates a visual formative language that expresses the life that resides within humans. An important function of my artwork is to vitalize experience and draw the viewer in. There is a joy in captivating people’s attention and inducing them to think about something through and beyond the patterns and forms of the trees. It is an intense and amazing experience to discover life within a tree and that is what intrigues and inspires me. Once I connect to trees and nature, I can feel their enthusiasm and spirit of being. To me, the harmony between nature and humans implies order, a focal point of hue and format, and an object of pictorial interest that satisfies and excites me.

생체(生體)의 하모니-군상(CLUSTER)
인간은 생체의 자극과 반응으로 자신의 감정을 표현한다.
끊임없이 움직이는 신체는 오관(五官)의 반응이며, 이것은 끊임없이 근육을 움직이며 경련을 반응하고, 손의 움직임은 갈망을, 발의 움직임은 의지의 표현이다. 자연과 인간의 닮은 모습은 생체의 자극에 순응하는 것이다.
나의 그림은 마치 나무들이 군무의 동작을 취하면서 3막 2장의 무대를 펼치고 있다. 이러한 비구상적인 패턴의 활용은 내안에 내재된 자연에 대한 시선과 감성의 표현이며, 이 조형언어는 인간의 내면속에서 반응하는 생명력의 표현이다.
내 그림에서 나타나는 역할의 하나는 경험에 생기를 주어 사람들에게 흥미를 느끼도록 하는 것이다. 자연속에 존재하는 나무를 통해 무엇인가를 생각하게 하면서, 사람의 시선을 끌게 만드는 즐거움이 있다. 나무의 생체를 발견하는 놀라움과 강렬함이 나로 하여금 나무에 집착하게 한다. 나무에 귀를 기울이면 그들의 생에 대한 열망을 느낄 수 있다. 자연과 인간의 하모니는 나에게 있어 질서이고 색채와 형식의 초점이며, 그들을 바라보기 위한 것, 만족감과 흥분이 되는 회화적 흥미의 대상인 것이다.

새가 나뭇가지로 날아 이동하는 모습을 공감각적으로 표현한 과정을 그린다.
러시아의 자작나무숲의 기억을 잊을 수 없다. 끝없이 이어진 아스라한 숲의 감명은 은빛나뭇가지의 향연을 아직도 가슴 어딘가에 간직하고 있다.
숲이 인간에게 주는 깊은 감동은 잊을 수 없을 것이다. 인간의 생명을 치유하고 마음의 병을 치유하고 자연의 섭리에 따라 자연의 이치를 깨닫게 하고 사계절의 아름다운 은빛나무의 물결을 보며 자연의 신비를 마음의 숲으로 표현해 본다.
숲이 주는 의미의 가르침을 깨닫기 까지 무한한 감동을 주는 작품으로 내면의 진한 감정을 표현 하려 한다.
작품이 보는 이로 하여금 정신적 풍요로움을 충족시켜주고 싶다.
자연이 주는 무한한 감동의 물결을....
인생이란 긴 여정에서 지친 영혼이 잠시 쉬어갈 수 있는 마음의 휴식을 느낄 수 있었으면 하는 바람이다.
